The Auditor

From Madness Combat Wiki

The Auditor, as he appears in Madness Combat 9

The Auditor is a new antagonist to the Madness series, and is a very powerful entity, possibly immune to physical attack. He does not have the Tricky or even the high powers objectives, as it is known that he wants Hank dead, where as the before mentioned want something to perform for them. It is thought The Auditor's purpose is to guard the improbability drive, but some think the he IS the third drive. He is one of three characters to never die so far, the other two being Sanford and the Hot Dog Vendor. (sect)

Abilities

The Auditor has shown to have exceptional accuracy even with weapons that would normally be otherwise, such as a large minigun which he uses as a sniper rifle against Jesus. While he is able to summon practically any weapon at will, he prefers to dual-wield two blades. He can morph his form to be as flat as a shadow, and is capable of teleportation. He may also be invulnerable, but this is highly questionable because he hasn't actually been shot. It does appear he can be harmed by melee weapons however, as seen near the end of Madness Combat 8: Inundation when the Jesus bashed him with his Smith and Wesson Model 500, sending him sprawling. This may ulimately lead to his death, as one of the new protagonists prefers to slaughter his enemies with a large fish-hook on a string. Krinkels has also stated that Hank prefers melee weapons, and is highly skilled with them. This might lead to a showdown betwen the two. However, it is seen in Madness Combat 9: Aggregation that he easily dodge melee weapons, too.

Improbability Drive

The Auditor seems to be the creator of the Improbability Drive, which was first used by the Sheriff in order to try and kill off Hank for good. While Tricky uses the Improbability Drive to become powerful, only the Auditor can use its full potential, modifying his henchmen into super-powered soldiers, as well as infecting Jesus with a virus, making him cough up blood periodically. The Improbability Drive has the potential to modify anything that the user wishes, and potentially uses the insanity of a person's mind for empowerment, as shown in Tricky's rise in strength after being slaughtered each time. In the series, there are three of these drives, as revealed by Deimos' PDA in Madness Combat 9: Aggregation; one drive was controlled by the Sherrif and probably the same one Tricky housed within his skull, the second and biggest of the drives was controlled by the Auditor, and the third drive's whereabouts is still unknown.

Greater Power?

Hank is constantly resurrected throughout the series when he would normally be dead. In some cases, either Jesus or Tricky resurrect him, but in others, he is resurrected by an unknown force which Krinkels states is "the Higher Power." If this is the case, then one may wonder if the Auditor is that "Higher Power", and if so, why he even bothers resurrecting Hank at all, or even why the Sheriff has or uses the Improbability Drive.

Appearance

Jesus is out to end the madness, and in an attempt to destroy the Improbability Drive, he heads to the Auditor's lair where it is housed. In the end of Madness 8, Jesus faces off against the Auditor, and attempts to disable the Drive in order to remove the Auditor's power. He succeeds as the Auditor spawns a bazooka in a last ditch attempt to destroy him, but while fatally wounding Jesus, he damages the Drive, starting the 'normalization process'. Both Jesus and the Auditor are enveloped in a blast of white light.

Madness Combat 9: Aggregation

In Madness Combat 9, the Auditor is alive and well, and is seen taking away Jesus' halo. Upon placing it above his head he gains a new power which is in appearance similar to Jesus' power to 'dissolve' people, but instead it grants him the power to enhance anyone's basic hand-to-hand fighing power and reflexes. He also seems to have gained some traits, such as the use of a sword. He is seen at the end absorbing corpses of agents, making him bigger. It is possible that he survived the explosion by becomeing a shadow to avoid it.
