Surprisingly enough, this character has a face - or a bottom lip and possibly a pair of hidden eyes, to be exactly. He wears black round sunglasses which appear to resemble or cover up his eyes, a black bandana, bandages on his lower torso and what appears to be a camouflaged jacked around his waist. He was seen carrying a revolver and a Hook attached to a rope, enabling him to grapple. He also has what appears to be a DNA strand tattoo on his back. In Madness Combat 9: Aggregation he appears to have extremely effective fighting skills through the use of his hook: he can attack enemies where he cannot see them, and he can pull enemies in his direction to use their bodies as shields or even weapons (as seen in an early scene of Madness Combat 9, where he throws a l33t agent's body back in the truck taking out the others).

Sanford seems to especially fearless as he managed to attack the Auditor and fought against the two enhanced A.T.P. Agents, and highly resistant to pain, as he was able to easily continue fighting after having a knife stabbed deeply between his ribs, as seen in the middle of the episode. Besides quickly removing the knife he barely pays any attention to the wound, but retaliates against the A.T.P agent, vengefully executing him as if he felt nothing.

Trivia

• Sanford is one of the two characters who have directly faced the Auditor in combat (Jesus Christ being the first), though it only was a short defensive sword struggle. In a possible next episode he is not likely to engage in further combat as Hank would be the most effective character for a job like this, even though Hank is left with hardly any intelligence.

• Since Tricky with his Warning sing, he is the only one to have some sort of attachment to a weapon (Hook)

• It is unknown how Sanford has a mouth as he didn't have one in Madness 5/5.5. He was, although, seen to take a sip of a drink in Madness 5.5: his lip might be a sign of excessive drinking. This would make him the counterpole of Deimos, who is a smoker.

• The revolver he carries may have been acquired from the A.T.P Agent at the end of Madness Combat 5.5. The bandages from his torso may cover up a bullet wound that he received from the very same agent.
